Our Mission
Cybersecurity advice is often written for a global audience — and it shows. References to products that don't work in SA, prices in USD with no ZAR conversion, no mention of local threats like SIM swap fraud or SA banking phishing campaigns. TechCruze exists to fix that.
We write about cybersecurity in plain language, with South African context, for South African internet users. Every product we recommend has been researched from SA, with SA payment methods, on SA networks.
What We Cover
- Threat Alerts: Active cybercrime campaigns targeting South Africans
- How-To Guides: Practical security steps for SA internet users
- Product Reviews: Honest VPN, antivirus, and security software reviews
- News: SA-relevant cybersecurity news and data breaches
Our Review Standards
Every product we recommend must pass four tests:
- It works in SA — we test from SA connections, confirm SA payment works, and verify it functions on local networks
- Independent testing backs it up — we cross-reference with AV-Test, AV-Comparatives, and independent privacy audits
- We disclose conflicts honestly — affiliate relationships are always disclosed above the fold, not buried in the footer
- Scores reflect reality — we've given products 6/10 when they deserved it, even when higher-paying affiliate arrangements were available
Affiliate Disclosure
TechCruze earns revenue through affiliate commissions when you click our links and purchase products. We participate in affiliate programs for NordVPN, Norton, Bitdefender, 1Password, and others. You can find the full list on our disclaimer page.
Our affiliate relationships do not influence our scores or rankings. We've declined higher-commission products because they didn't meet our standards. We've given low scores to products we're affiliated with when testing warranted it.
